CROSS COUNTRY PREREQUISITES


PPL:

Prior to the 150 nautical mile solo (long) cross country, all PPL students should have already completed the following:

  • Stage 1: First Solo (0.5 hours solo time)

  • Stage 2: Solo Consolidation (3 Flights = 2.5 hours solo time)

  • Stage 3: First Area Solo (1 Flight = 1.1 hours solo time)

  • Stage 4: General Progress Flight Test (2 Flights = 2.2 hours solo time)

  • Stage 5: First Solo (Short) Cross Country (2 Flights = 3.1 hours solo time)


CPL:

Prior to the (solo) 300 nautical mile cross country, CPL students should have completed the following:

  • Night Rating Issued/Valid and Current for both students**

  • For Integrated Students: VFR Nav Prog Flight Test

  • For Modular Students: 25 Hours PIC Cross Country Flight Time

* * At the discretion of the CFI (or their delegate), the 300 nm cross country flight may authorized provided that the student flying the return leg is both night rated & current at night
